Body Led Wisdom

This morning a new song on the radio was literally music to my ears. Headphones in, I stuck my new favorite song on repeat and the music felt like melting butter to my soul. My body asked to go for a walk in the morning sun, no sunglasses, no hat. Just simple pure radiance. So I did. She asked to dance so I let her move any way she wanted. The lovely purple flowers in the field called her name. They said Come see me! I’m smiling at you. Lay here and enjoy this moment. So I flopped down in the grass. Her dog asked to snuggle up and even lick her chin. So I let her and it made me laugh. My lungs asked to stretch as big and wide as I would allow them to so I handed over the reins. Permission granted. "How expansive do you want to be? How deep do you want to breathe?" I asked. You know best. I will follow your lead.

The morning was so much fun that I turned it into the entire day. I basically took myself on a date - a practice I would highly suggest you try. I am grateful for the space and time in my life to be able to do this.

These questions ensued: Would you like to speak today? Would you like to be quiet? What is it that you want to do? What would you like for breakfast? What would you like to think about? What would you like to see today?

So I burst out in song, made a beautiful smoothie bowl and fresh watermelon/apple/ginger juice and enjoyed them on the deck. It was fantastic. And ended the day by saying yes, the moon is gorgeous tonight. Let's all howl at it. Why not?!

Body led wisdom. I am learning how to listen.

There is a technique my dear aunt taught me that I’m employing more and more.

The body pendulum. And it’s simple. Take a substance/food/drink/supplement and hold it in both hands close to your heart. While standing still, notice the subtle changes in your balance. If you lean towards it or forward that as a "yes". If you move slightly backwards or away from it that is a "no." Learning this has changed my life.

Bodies are never wrong. Disease is a healing response that is asking you to listen and make changes accordingly. These changes might be extensive, but they are necessary. Consider what is asking to be healed: your beliefs, past traumas, old narratives, expired dreams.

I am also learning this.

Yesterday in the car, I had an interesting experience where I actually had a conversation between my mind and my body. Do you do this, too? I ended up listening to what my body wanted to do. This meant an extra hour of driving for only two hours at home, but that’s what she wanted to do. When I walked in the door my shoulders immediately dropped. It felt so good to be home. The comfy couch outside called my name and I went to lay in the sun.

The day felt spacious. So so so spacious. Surprisingly spacious. I ate delicious food, went for a stroll and even took a shower. Time seemed to expand and my two hours at home felt like six. When it was time to go pick up my children I was fully relaxed and in harmony. I felt whole and ready for the rest of the day. I even squeezed in a meditation. Have you experienced this? How is this possible? I have yet to figure it out, but I do know the first step of life in harmony is learning how to listen to ourselves.

I fell in love this week. With my dog. With my husband. With the shape of my children’s sleeping faces. Morning sun beams in their hair and angel kisses on their cheeks. I fell in love with this beautiful land and the expansive views in all directions. With watching my children tuck the chickens in at night. I fell in love with the gentle wind. With the sun. With the change of the seasons, yellow hues starting to appear. I fell in love with my human body. I started really, really listening. My second walk today was around our property and in my bathing suit because she wanted to! It felt wonderful and free. Be spontaneous. Say yes to what she is asking for. Pay attention. Fall in love with listening. With noticing.

Fall in love with your life.

I discovered the most amazing doctor - Dr. Cassie Huckaby. Her message had me covered in goosebumps, filled with tears and laughing.

You are perfect. You have everything you need. Your body has infinite wisdom and ability to heal. Be present to everything. Don't walk past a flower without breathing it in.

Your life is your medicine.

Quantum healing.

A freaking men.
